I’m trying to rationalize my use of time and I’m asking myself a basic question about a few blogs I started. This is one of them.

The question is:

Does this blog do me any good?

Now this blog has very little by way of content, so I’d have to say it probably doesn’t do me any good. Is it worth keeping alive then?

That’s the hard part. I don’t really like to let go of something I set up with good intentions. But I’m finding it harder to see the point of keeping a blog alive when I have other, better blogs in the same field.

Is it just vanity?

What do you do?

If you’re like most people - and I’m the same as everyone else - you’ll probably have a hard time reading even a small percentage of the ebooks you buy. You probably won’t even get around to watching all the DVDs you buy. And listening to all that audio? Forget it - who has the time?

The truth is most people end up leaping from one product to another, desperately looking for the next quick fix on how to make money. Adn they rarely put into practise all the stuff they should have learned from all the products they already paid good money for.

I’ve done my share of that too. And it costs, cold hard cash.

Recognize yourself in that description?

It’s a problem that’s shared by 95% of would-be marketers. Maybe even more than 95%.

It’s also the main reason why it’s very hard for newbies to make any money in Internet Marketing. Remember we all start with no websites, no customers and no products.

Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s beneficial to learn from new information and products out there. Constant learning is a good thing, but just buying stuff won’t put money in your pocket, you have to do something with the knowledge you’ve paid for. You have to take some action and be prepared to make a few mistakes along the way. And every step you take will be a step towards your future success. Read the rest of this entry »

So how far would you to to win a prize you could buy yourself if you really wanted it?

And what about if you offered a range of prizes to encourage people to link back to you? Do you think all the links you got would benefit you over time? I’m sure they would, which is why I’m happy to offer a link to Gobala’s Wordpress blog, in the hope of winning the USB memory watch.

But there’s more to it than that: Gobala’s blog is well frequented and he’s offering a link back to the blogs that link to him - that’s not to be sneezed at and it’s probably worth more than the watch.

Here’s the thing: as an example of giving value for value this competition shows a great way of doing it. Everyone gets something out of it. If you can offer value in return for value it makes it so much easier for your customers (in this case bloggers) to make the decision to buy (in this case make a post). Money doesn’t always have to change hands for the exchange of services and this kind of creative thinking shows why Gobala’s name crops up regularly.

So, do you have a blog and would like a shot at winning something? Visit the competition page here and take your shot - good luck!
